ok… this is something that should not happen. you should never ever take it personal when it comes to work. it’s always all about the experience. you will always find someone who has much more experience than you. espicially in this side of the world, most people tend to interpret “a suggestion/explanation” as “i’m teaching you something and i’m telling you that you’re a loser and you suck”. so many problems arouse from these useless and immature ways of behaving. each person in this world is unique in his/her own way. each person sees things in a diferent perspective. you need to always be open up to suggestions, ideas, comments, criticisms, etc. don’t ever take things on a personal level regardless of the position you are in which brings up something very important to talk about. a lot of people walk around with their nose stuck to the ceiling just because of their “position” at work. A CEO? Account Director? Vice President? so what? this doesn’t prove that you know everything in the field you’re working in. it’s true that you worked hard to get to that position but everyday is always a new experience. if an account executive, a fresh graduate, or a random non-experienced individual comes up to you and corrects a mistake you’ve done, don’t take it personal. don’t be judgemental just because you’re in a higher position at work. we’ve come to a time where it’s all about discussions, collaborations, explanations, sharing, etc. when you do something good at work, talk about it and share it with everyone because you deserve some credit. but don’t stick your nose up in the sky thinking that you’re on top of the world. it’s true that you may have worked a whole lot in your life on something but doesn’t give you the right to not take into consideration what a fresh graduate tells you and to take it personal. you were once a fresh graduate also. in summary, it all depends on how you approach people, things, tasks, etc. i believe this is an industry on it’s own. a billion different types of personalities, ways of thinking, thoughts, opinions, etc are our there. you need to be careful how to approach them. don’t take people the way you are. treat each person the way he/she deserves to be treated and which you find it right. share your thoughts, passion, and most of all be nice and humble. the human behavior is indeed something amazing to observe.
work? don’t take it personal
